CONTINGENCY PLANNING

  • The Aviation Company Policy: minimum of two contingency plans in place for every trip
  • Monthly/Weekly/Daily/Hourly reports can be provided to Client as required
  • Beginning 30 days from the first departure, The Aviation Company is in contact will all airlines in the respective region who operate VIP Airliners to determine suitable replacement aircraft positioning and availability in the event such replacement becomes necessary.
  • From 7-days prior to the first departure, The Aviation Company is in contact with all secondary aircraft operators on a daily basis to track and identify the closest suitable replacement aircraft in the event a replacement is necessary.
  • The Aviation Company closely tracks and monitors every aircraft involved with a program 24 hours a day using a flight tracking system that identifies aircraft by their specific registration. We are in constant contact with the aircraft’s dispatch before and throughout the duration of the flight.
  • When an unforeseen interruption takes place, the on-site The Aviation Company Manager works directly with the team to analyze all contingency options available. Depending on the severity of the inconvenience, The Aviation Company coordinates with the club as to the best course of action, whether it is remaining at the location, contracting an alternative aircraft, staying at the hotel/venue, or booking commercial air. If an aircraft substitution is necessary, The Aviation Company will re-position the closest suitable aircraft.

One of these had a major talent who had been offered a last-minute opportunity to promote her upcoming album on a late-night television show. Unfortunately, she also had to be in remote Mexico the next morning for a video shoot. Rescheduling a big shoot wasn’t financially viable and the closest commercial airport was some five hours drive from the filming location. It seemed like the television exposure would be a lost opportunity. PJS worked with Mexican customs and aviation authorities to extend the curfew of a local airport. With merely two hours’ notice, the Flight Concierge sourced an aircraft and crew, along with a police escort, that brought the talent directly from her television appearance to a private FBO. She was in the air within an hour of the show’s completion and had a bed for getting some rest. Touching down in Mexico, PJS sourced a twin-engine helicopter to bring the star to her music shoot by 8am and meet the deadline.
